Every month I will try to give you information about how to help your student be successful in school. I may list some websites that could be useful to you also.
Parents of Kindergarten students encourage your student to follow the rules, make new friends and be excited about learning. They are looking to you for your reaction to school, make it a positive one.
Parents of First and Second graders remind your student daily that they have responsibilities at school, home and in their community. Give them small chores to do at home and praise them when they do them. This will reinforce their since of pride in taking responsibility for their actions.
Parents of third and fourth graders talk to your student about bullying. Ask them if they are being bullied, how does it make them feel to see others bullied, what could they do to help the situation. If there is any information that you feel the school needs to know from this conversation, please call me.
