Bio

I was born in Shelby, North Carolina. I went to Shelby City Schools graduating from Shelby High School in 1973.  I joined the U.S. Air Force and married Cindy Jordan (Crest High School Class of 1974). We have 3 children; Jennifer is 35 years old and lives in Boiling Springs.  She is in the medical career field and works in an assisted living facility. She has two daughters. Michael is 31 years old and lives  in Cleveland County. He works at the Pleasant City Fireplace Grill in Shelby. He has three children.  Kimberly is 30 years old, and a graduate of GWU and is also in the Air Force. She is married, a Staff Sergeant, and is stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona. She and her husband have two sons and two bulldogs.

I retired from the Air Force in 1997 after 24 years of service. I have been in 25 different countries and lived overseas from 1985 until I retired in 1997. I started out two days after my retirement from the Air Force as the Shelby City Schools Home School Coordinator. I was accepted in graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and completed my work in the area of Exceptional Children. I taught EC at Shelby Middle School for 6 years, coming to Crest High School in the Fall of 2003. I continued coaching football at Crest and was on staff when Crest won the State Championship in 2003.

In 2007, I moved over to the Crest High School Junior ROTC Corps. I feel like I have "come back home" in that I can continue to teach additional generations of young people whom might have a feeling for the military way of life. I am also active at Flint Hill Baptist Church, a member of the church choir, and active in the Emmanual Emmaus Community,  a past master at the Friendship Masonic Lodge in Boiling Springs, a member of the Oasis Shrine Club in Charlotte and a driver for the Piedmont Pistons go-cart team. I enjoy travelling with my wife and spending time with my seven grandchildren. I believe that Crest is a great place to work and feel honored to have the privilege of being a part of this outstanding school.
