Media Center
Welcome to the Kings Mountain Intermediate School Media Center!
We have a flexible schedule that allows students to check out books and reference materials anytime between 9:30 AM and 2:50 PM. Students circulate books through our self checkout stations. Classes come to the Media Center for collaborative instructional units that integrate content area instruction with information and computer skills. Classes also come to the Media Center for reading and conferencing time.
We currently have 12,138 titles in our collection. We continually update our book, audiobook, eBook, video, and teacher material collections. Periodicals, encyclopedias, and other reference materials are available to our students and faculty. Our media center houses ten computer workstations for students and a projection workstation for our teachers.
Media Center Mission Statement
The Kings Mountain Intermediate School Media Center staff members are dedicated to promoting a love of reading and acquiring information. We will do our best to help each child reach their potential. We will strive to provide faculty members with the learning tools necessary for the education our students.
Attention Parent Volunteers!!!!!
The Media Center at KMIS welcomes parent volunteers. We can always use help straightening and shelving books, any time, any day!! We also need volunteers to read with students between 11:00 and 12:00 everyday.
Our fall bookfair will be happening November 13 - 20. Our spring bookfair will be April 9 - 16. We will need parents to help us run the cash registers and supervise the students. Volunteer letters will be sent home before the fair. Please sign up for a time to work!
