Drama II
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Drama I (you must have passed Drama I).
This class is continues to build on the foundation of Drama I in the area of theatre arts. Acting is emphasized, but students continue to learn technical roles such as stage management, props and costumes handling, directing, and technical crew. Students do a number of in-school shows for student audiences (parents and family members are invited to attend these also).
Students do PowerPoint projects dealing with theatre history, film and theatre's role in society, or some other related topic that they carefully research and report out on to sharpen and integrate their public speaking and computer skills.
Students also have the opportunity to audition for Honors Drama while in Drama II. However, auditions are not the final call in deciding if students pass on to Honors Drama. Final grades and student participation and teacher approval all factor into a student being ready for the Honors program.
