Makeup Work and Student Review

All assignments must be made up and turned into Miss Wray within 5 school days.  I look forward to teaching and getting to know each student this year.  Should any parent or student need to reach me I can be contacted at 704 - 476-8325, ext 3255 from 10 am  - 10:55 am (Third Period Planning) or after school from 3:05 - 3:30 pm.  My remediation day for all courses is on Thursday till 4:00 pm or in the morning at 7:00 am as per student requests.  Students must let me know they are coming at 7 am on Thursday morning so I can give them a note to provide administration to come to class early, I also bake a homemade biscuit for any student who comes at 7 am.  My mother always says, "Feed the mind, feed the soul" which meant show the students you care by providing them with great and challenging information but also let them know you care.

Parent Invitation & Involvement

Each year at parent teacher conferences and open house I have parents tell me they would love to take any of the classes we offer in our Business Department.  So, I wanted to extend an invitation to all my student's parents to come visit our classes anytime they have the time to spare.  I firmly believe that students at every grade level benefit from parent interaction in classes.  At the high school level with students developing their own identity I do believe it is important to let the student know they will be coming on the date the parent chooses so they student will not be thrown off or worried that something might be wrong because a parent is around.  Please let me know when you can come and I will make sure your student is able to come to the front to escort you to our class. Parents must sign in at the front office with Mrs. Glenn before coming to class. My only request is for parents to not come on days we are giving tests so as to not add any additional stress to any student while testing.  All students want to do well for themselves and their parents, as well as, friends of the family so I am sure you all will agree we do not want anyone to feel uncomfortable when testing.  I do appreciate all parental support and would like to thank you in advance for sharing your student with us at Shelby High School.  I am looking forward to a productive year.
