Attention Athletes

If you plan to participate in athletics in college you MUST register with the NCAA Clearinghouse.  This is a simple process that must be done online at www.ncaaclearinghouse.com  Applying with the Clearinghouse should be done in the spring semester of your junior year.  There is a fee for registration that must be paid by credit/debit card online.  After you have entered your personal information, you will be instructed to print a transcript request form.  You should sign this and bring it to the Guidance Office.  Transcripts will not be sent to the clearinghouse until the summer after junior year.

When you take the ACT or SAT, you must have scores sent directly to the NCAA Clearinghouse!  They will not accept them from any other source.  As you complete your registration for the test, pay attention to the section for reporting scores.  The ACT labels the section, "College and Scholarship Choices."  The SAT is "Reports to Colleges and Scholarships."  You should use the code 9999 to request that scores be sent to the Clearinghouse.  If you do not do this as you register, you must pay a fee to have them sent later.

New beginning 2008/2009!
To be eligible as college freshmen, students MUST graduate from high school in 8 semesters.  All core courses must be taken in 8 semesters.  Students can no longer go to "prep schools" and take classes after the 8 semesters.  Neither can they take a course in summer school AFTER the 8th semester and graduate in summer school.  Summer school after 9th, 10th, and 11th grades is still fine.  Students can still repeat classes while in high school to improve grades.  The main focus is graduating on time.
