I teach a variety of business courses at Shelby High School. This year I will be teaching Computer Applications I, Business Law and Digital Communications.
Class Syllabus
Digital Communications and Computer Applications:
In both of these courses students will take notes from lectures, be involved with hands on labs at computers using various software programs such as microsoft word, excel, powerpoint and access. Also, we will use the internet for various assignments and projects.
The student's grade will be determined using the following formula:

Class Participation............................................20%
Business Law:
In this course students will learn about a variety topics that include crime, court systems, insurance, contracts and many others. Students will take notes from lectures, be involved in discussions, and complete a wide range of classroom assignments.

Rules
1. Be prepared.
2. Be on time.

4. No food or drink in the classroom.
5. Dress appropriately.
Consequenses
1st Offense: Verbal Warning
2nd Offense: Time Out Referral
**If behavior continues to interfere with instruction, parents will be notified and student will receive a office referral. The teacher reserves the right to send any student directly to the office if the behavior is offensive, threatening, or extremely disrespectful.
DAILY CLASSROOM PROCEDURES
-Students come into class on time and sit down in their seat.
-A daily schedule will be posted on the front board each day.
-Students begin work immediately on warm-up exercises pos ted on the front board.
-Attendance will be checked while students are working on their warm up.
-After the warm-up the previous day's lesson will be reviewed and homework will be checked and discussed.
-Next the daily lesson will be taught and students will begin on their class activities and
homework.
-Class exercises and homework will be posted on the front board.
-Students should turn in their assignments in the box at the front of class.
-After lesson, the teacher reviews, answers questions and assists students who need help with their work
HOMEWORK/MAKE-UP POLICY
**Students will have 5 days to make up any missed assignments in order to receive full credit.
Ten points will be deducted for each day past the 5 day period. (assignments include test, classwork, and homework)
