School: I attended Montclaire Elementary School, Amy James Intermediate, and J. Mason Smith Junior High School located in Charlotte, N.C.. I graduated from South Mecklenburg High School in the late 1980's.
I then attended Western Carolina University and earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education K-6 and Reading K-12. I attended Appalachian State University and earned my Master's Degree in School Administration.
Hobbies: My hobbies include driving and washing my 2007 four door Jeep Wrangler, hiking, camping, working outside, playing outside with my daughters, watching my daughters play soccer and going on trips with my family.
Best Friend: My wife Laura is my best friend! We have been married 21 years.

Family: I have one sister and my parents are Mickey and Patti Mitchell.
Hometown: I was actually born here in Cleveland County, but grew up in Charlotte, N.C..
When I grow up: I want to purchase and learn how to fly a hot air balloon and then become a commercial balloon pilot... fly around the world?
