We are having an exciting school year!

My name is Brenda Whisnant.  I have taught school in Kentucky, Tennessee, and North Carolina.  I spent 15 years at my previous school in Durham, North Carolina before moving back "home" to Cleveland County.   This is my eleventh year at Union Elementary.  I am divorced and have a son, Trey, who is 31 years old.  I now have a daughter-in-law, Haley.  I LOVE teaching.  I am excited about having your child in my class this year.  I want us to work together to make this fifth grade year a successful one for your child!  If you need to get in touch with me, please call the school (704-481-8001) and leave a message, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.  Please feel free to email me at my email address: bwhisnant@clevelandcountyschools.org

 

Important Reminders

** Please check your child's planner every day

**** If your child has different  transportation plans other than his/her usual way to get home, you need to send a note to school with your child on that day or your child will be sent home the usual way

(Examples: Going home with another child, being picked up by car rather than riding the assigned bus home,  riding a bus when being usually picked up in car riders, etc.)

*If your child is sick and has to be absent, please send a note within two days of your child's return to school or the absence will be counted as "unexcused."

* LOST and FOUND boxes are located near the gym.  Please encourage your child to check frequently to see if he/she has lost something.

*Please help us by sending updated phone numbers and addresses with your child in case we should need to contact you.
