Reminder

   Phonics    We will be learning how to read words with the combination ar, or and qu. We will also learn about the digraph ch.
   Math   We will begin to use a ruler to draw line segments using inches. We will be adding two-digit numbers using dimes and pennies, this will reinforce tens and ones place value when adding two-digit numbers. The students will practice writing the numbers 64-68.

    Reading  We will be reading the fiction story Did You See Chip?  This story is about a family who has moved to the city and how their dog runs off and how they meet new friends through finding their dog Chip.
    Writing   Students will write a story describing  the character Chip from their reading story.

    I am  looking forward to seeing my students and beginning to learn new facts and information in the New Year!

    Thank you so much for letting Mrs. Benson and I have the opportunity to work with your child. We will soon be having parent conferences. I can't wait to show you how much your child has learned in first grade.

We are thankful for all the snacks you send. We could use some more snacks and drinks.
