Springmore's Title I Program works to improve the reading skills of students in grades K-5. The Title I staff uses a variety of reading programs to teach decoding, fluency and comprehension skills to those students in each grade level that are in need of additional instruction.
The TItle I staff believe that parents have an important role in helping their children become successful readers. The staff offers a variety of parent involvement events to teach parents ways they can become more involved in helping their children learn to read. Parents of Title I students are invited to attend events such as the Kooky Carnival, Pizza Pizzazz, Fear Factor or even a Poetry Party. Parents who attend these events learn strategies they can use at home with their children to improve their reading skills.
