Important Basics for Language Arts and Math:
*Hummingbird teachers sign planners daily. Homework assignments are written down daily, and a teacher signature means that the student has written the homework correctly in their planner. If students have not done their homework, are missing assignments, or we need you to contact us, it WILL BE in the planner. It is very important that you are checking and signing the planner each and every night.
*Students should have math homework each night, unless they have taken a test that day. They should bring their math notebook and math notetaking guide home when completing homework. They may also bring their math text book if they need extra examples. The notetaking guide is essential in refreshing students on exactly what was covered in class on that particular day. **NOTE: students must follow along in class and take note with Mrs. McMurry for this to be helpful.**
*Language arts does not have a great deal of written homework. Due to the necessity of math practice, written homework is kept to a minimum of once, at most twice, a week. However, students should be reading at least 30 minutes each night in their RR books. If students have written homework in L.A. they may for go reading for that night only.
*Students are allowed to go to the library at two times during the school day.
1. The first 20 minutes of the day during homeroom.
2. During lunch, after the student has eaten.
It is the STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY to see Mrs. Buchanan if they need to go to the library.
Important dates:
Friday Dec.12~Christmas dance sponsered by 7th grade. Students must be on level 5 to attend.
Dec.22-Jan.2~NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS. Winter Break.
Monday Jan.5th~Students return to school
Friday Jan. 16th~RR cutoff in language arts
Monday Jan.19th~MLK Jr. holiday
Tuesday Jan. 20th & Wednesday Jan.21st~ NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS. Teacher workdays.
