Hello to everyone!  Thank you for visiting my webpage!
My name is David Mitchell and I am the assistant principal of Elizabeth Elementary School.
Elizabeth Elementary School is a K-5 school located in Shelby, N.C. with an enrollment of almost 645 students. This school year marks the beginning of my seventeenth season as an elementary educator and my 5th year as a school administrator!

My Educational Experience:
I completed my student teaching experience in the first grade at Bruce Drysdale Elementary School in Hendersonville, N.C.  My first eight years of teaching were served at Dana Elementary School in Henderson County, N.C.  I taught 5 years in the first grade.  One year teaching third grade and then I made the transition to serving Dana Elementary as the Technology Specialist for two years before moving my family to Shelby, N.C. to work for Cleveland County Schools.
The second chapter in my educational career began when I started working at Springmore Elementary School as the Technology Specialist in 2000.  I served at Springmore for 4 years as the Technology Specialist, SETV News Director/Producer, School Newspaper Publisher, Student Website Club Sponsor and the School WebMaster.
The latest chapter in my career started when I became the assistant principal of Elizabeth Elementary School in the summer of 2004.  I stay extremely busy assisting 90 school employees as we strive to educate almost 650 students.  I truly enjoy serving Elizabeth School, its faculty, its students and the surrounding community!  As long as I learn and grow... I am living! (-:
